MY FABULOUS DAY OUT SOURCING NEW BRANDS FOR OUR WEBSITE

....from that little pearl of a City in the West Midlands yes you have guessed it ...... Birningham!! Birmingham brought us the famous Bull Ring Centre which is an absolute treat to stop for coffee, have a meal or just browse the shops. However I was visiting Birmingham for serious business I was going to the NEC in Birmingham to the Moda 2015 Heart of Fashion Show.
Once again it was time to get my low heels on so that I could trip around this amazing sight of rows and rows of delicious new lingerie and new lingerie brands. The choice was incredible each brand had its own little corner where it showed its new collections and the exhibitors were waiting with sweets and little gifts to tempt you to buy from them. Everything from maternity and after baby bras to the latest sexy lacy barely there little numbers and everything in between was somewhere being shown.
I wandered up and down the aisles looking at all the beautiful garments there were the classic names like Gossard, that believe it or not during the Second World War, Gossard's production was turned over to assist with Britain's war effort and Gossard produced everything from bras for the Women's Royal Naval Service to sails, parachutes and even single-seater fighter dinghies!!  Not the gorgeous bras, knickers, thongs and bridal wear to die for that they are synonymous with today. The sizing of Gossard bras is amazing 30A to a G cup and in back sizes 30" to 44" depending on the style and lingerie collection. Which I think is really important it is so refreshing to find a brand which caters for the larger bust sizes as it is my belief that it is every woman’s right to feel stunning in their lingerie. I believe that the days of militarised brassieres are over and every woman should feel sexy in their lingerie no matter what size you are you should be able to find beautifully embroidered and lacy bras, knickers and thongs that are pretty as well as serve the obvious purpose.
The next kiosk that caught my eye was Lingadore this is a gorgeous lingerie designer from The Netherlands and they really are a front runner of innovative lingerie styles. LingaDore is renowned for her affordable luxury lingerie, which features beautiful embroideries, laces and applications. LingaDore's image is one of sensual French extravagance, with a fashionable touch their styles have an excellent fitting and are made of high-quality materials.   I felt that the bra designs were to die for intricate lace adorned the backs of the bras and they even cleverly gave you the conventional straps if you preferred but I thought the lace back was so refreshing and new I could not get over the stunning look that it created.
Next came an amazing catwalk session where models walked up and down the catwalk in very big heels (compared to my comfy ones) showing the latest innovative styles in lingerie and swimwear. There were also business seminars with very knowledgeable and successful entrepreneurs giving talks on everything from marketing, buying and branding to social media and how to get noticed on Facebook!!
The next Kiosk that caught my eye was Pleasure State this used to be headed by Elle McPherson (the body) but it is now soon to be headed by Heidi Klum the famous model and their range is very beautiful.  Inspired by the extravagance, luxury and ethereal beauty behind the Great Gatsby era it incorporates a rich colour palette of deep reds, dusky pinks and ice blues. The collection embraces bold floral prints overlayed with lace, luxurious jacquards and crystal detail indulging the senses and evoking the true glamour inspired by this epic tale. These pieces transport you back to a romantic, decadent era.
So my day was done I had loved every minute, seen some amazing lingerie and it was now time to have another coffee, we also had one half way through our visit whilst having a sneaky peak at all the new ranges coming out this Autumn/Winter. It was time to take the drive back to Yorkshire with renewed excitement and exuberance....till next time.
